RoboCup 3D Soccer Simulation
Consists of 3D simulations of soccer games. In this category, each player is modeled as a humanoid robot with 22 joints. This creates some complications associated with the players movements, which should be executed based on the control of each individual joint.
Humanoid KidSize League
Consists on the development of a soccer team in which the players are humanoid robots measuring up to 90cm.
Humanoid Racing
A race-like competition of humanoid robots, in which the one who completes the track in the smaller amount of time wins
IEEE Very Small Size (VSSS)
In the IEEE Very Small Size competition two teams of 3 robots measuring up to 7.5x7.5x7.5cm play soccer. The robots are remotely controlled by a host computer, without human intervention. The host computer processes the image obtained from a camera placed above the pitch, sending then control signals to the robots.
RoboCup 2D Soccer Simulation
This category consists of bidimensional simulations of soccer matches. It focuses on the development of Artificial Intelligence, pursuing the creation of a collaborative strategy among the player agents.
Small Size League (SSL)
A Small Size League robot soccer game takes place between two teams of six robots each. Each robot must conform to the dimensions as specified in the F180 rules: the robot must fit within an 180 mm diameter circle and must be no higher than 15 cm. The robots play soccer with an orange golf ball on a green carpeted field that is 9 m long by 6 m wide.
